Community Guidelines

Rhize facilitates sharing information, resources, and encouragement with its members. If you share a passion for connecting with others looking for their next role and would like to get to know a great group of friendly peers, share your knowledge, and learn something new, join us!

OUR CODE OF CONDUCT

Diversity of people, perspectives, and experiences strengthens communities. While community seems simple, it doesn’t mean it’s easy and doesn’t require intentional maintenance. We're posting our Slack Community Code of Conduct because we believe it's important that everyone in the Rhize Community knows the expectations for participating in it.

If you have an idea for making these expectations clearer, more inclusive, or more impactful, please let me know! Direct message Giovanna Ventola or feel free to email hello@rhizetogether.com. We're here to support and grow together.

PURPOSE OF THIS COMMUNITY

Rhize is designed for individuals engaged in job search activities, fostering conversations geared towards securing their next role. We extend a warm welcome to all actively pursuing employment opportunities. While membership is open to those currently employed as well, participation should reflect an interest in leveraging professional networks for career advancement and mutual support. We ask you to use your real name—many of you may develop professional relationships through conversations here, and it's best to build trust from the beginning.

OUR COMMITMENT

We commit to acting and interacting in ways that contribute to a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging community and to seek feedback for ways to improve it actively.

To maintain a healthy and inclusive space, we have a zero-tolerance policy for harassment or disrespect of any kind. We commit to respectfully and privately having difficult conversations and taking the potentially difficult actions necessary to promote and sustain a safe space for our community to collaborate, ideate, and network.

OUR COMMUNITY GUIDELINES

Some of the best examples of behavior we see across positive and thriving communities include:

  • Demonstrating inclusivity and kindness toward other people

  • Being respectful of diverse opinions, viewpoints, and experiences

  • Giving and gracefully accepting constructive feedback

  • Accepting responsibility for and apologizing to those affected by mistakes and learning from the experience

  • Listening and speaking, giving and taking (with permission), asking and answering

Some of the examples of behavior that we will not tolerate and will result in removal from the Rhize Community include:

  • Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments, or personal or political attack

  • The use of sexualized language or imagery, sexual attention, or advances of any kind

  • Public or private harassment or disrespect

  • Publishing other's private information, such as a physical or email address, without their explicit permission

  • Sharing or soliciting illegal content

  • Posting external survey polls or questionnaires

  • Cross-promoting or sharing the same posts in various channels

  • Spamming others by pitching your product and services or conducting market research in private DMs or public channels other than the #humble-brag channel

  • Other conduct that could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting

You can also learn the best practices of how we use Slack, on our Our Slack Community page.

If you experience or notice a community member that is violating our community guidelines, please DM Giovanna Ventola immediately in the Slack community.

That’s the long of it. The short of it?

We’re pumped that you’re here and looking forward to building community together. 😄
